Week 12 saw a reset of this year’s weekly high score. It locked down one Division Title and set up a one week showdown between 3 teams for the 6th seed. It’s also down to 2 teams in the Taco Crap.
Matchups
6-6 Fear Boners (146.72) – 4-8 Chalupa Batman (131.00)
Let’s get this snoozefest out of the way first. Boners inches his way to a win thanks to the schedule and picks up a valuable 2 pts to hold down 6th place in the battle for the last playoff spot. It wasn’t pretty but Boners was led by his DEnds who combined for 28.4 and were the key to victory. The Chalupas had more defenders with double digits on his bench than in the starting lineup, whoops. Other than Brett Hundley (22.4) there isn’t much to see with the Batmen.
9-3 Tom Selleck’s Moustache (189.46) – 9-3 Greg Schiano is an Idiot (155.21)
The Stache picked up a 4pt victory and reclaimed sole possession of the top spot in Yobagoya heading into the final week. Marvin Jones had a big afternoon scoring a pair of TDs on American Turkey Day, and Zach Ertz almost doubled the output of the Idiots TE pair. The Idiots were led by the 28.7 pts that Keenan Allen also put up on Turkey Day in the thrashing of the Cowboys. On Defence the Idiots had a nice performance by Landon Collins but was let done by the other 8 starters. Crabtree fighting and getting thrown out before getting a catch didn’t help either.
4-8 What Does John Fox Say (189.79) – 4-8 Rex in the City (169.28)
In the battle for control of the Taco Corp the Foxes stomped on Rex. The Foxes were led by Robby Anderson and Kyle Rudolph who both went over 20 pts. They also had more than half of their team in double digits. With a 5 pt lead it looks they this win will give them the points to win the Crap division and make an interesting playoff tilt against the 6th seed. Rex is locked into the bottom 4 but at least it looks like he might be taking home the ROY as Alvin Kamara had another big day. Rex must also not have had wifi in the Dominican as he left Marshon Lattimore in his lineup after it was announced on Friday he would miss the game.
3-9 Endzone Dancers (182.43) – 4-8 Knuckle Ballers (157.64)
The Dancers made it very hard for the Ballers to find their way to the playoffs. The Ballers now will need 2 wins, 2 scoring VPs and The Foxes to get a donut. The Dancers got a great week from the J’s Josh, Joe and Jamison who each went 24+ and that made up for the C’s CJ and Coby who combined for 2.5 pts. The Baller had a nice game for Luke Kuechly who went over 20 pt for the 2nd time this season but also had 4 defenders score less than 5 pts. It also looks like contenders in the league were smart to let the Ballers keep Alfred Morris who has yet to crack double digits in his fill-in role.
9-3 San Juan Bananas (189.14) – 6-6 Long Snappers (174.30)
This matchup was looking good for the Snappers after the Sunday afternoon late games. Then Big Ben had a great game vs the Packers. His 29.54 pts was his highest output of the season so far. Gronk also had a good game. San Juan was able to hold of the Nagintas on Monday night to secure the 2 scoring VPs and remains only 1 pt out of the Yobagoya Division lead. The Snappers got great numbers out of their WRs and DEs but their RBs and LBs let them down in this matchup. Plus they probably wish that JuJu was healthy with the numbers that all the Steelers put up vs GB. The Snappers picked up 1 scoring VP and sit 1 pt back of the 6th and last playoff spot.
9-3 Loose Bandits (259.25) – 5-7 Deadly Nagintas (183.08)
The Bandits were led by huge games by his studs this week. Julio and Antonio showed why they are considered 2 of the top fantasy players posting a combined 22 catches for 422 yds and 4 TDs. There were also nice performances from Bell, Martinez and Rashad Jones who had a nice scoop and score on a Tom Brady ‘fumble’. Tom never touched the ball after his center snapped it. The Nagintas had many solid outings including the 21.7 by Tevin Coleman and 16 by DeAndre Hopkins. However they only picked up 1 VP on the week and sit 2 pts back in the race for 6th.
Week 12 Awards
Offensive Player of the Week
Julio Jones (Loose Bandits) – Julio went 12 catches for 253 and 2 TDs. He also added 15 rushing yards.
Defensive Player of the Week
Blake Martinez (Loose Bandits) – Blake was all over the field and pretty much did it all in the loss to Pittsburgh having 12 tackles, 3 assists, 1 TFL, 1 INT, 1 fumble recovery, 1 pass breakup and 3 return yards.
Rookie of the Week
Alvin Kamara (Rex in the City) – Alvin wasn’t the reason the Saints lost on Sunday. He went for 188 yards from scrimmage and had 2 TDs.
Goat of the Week
Idiots D players not named Landon Collins – Landon puts up 22.5 … the other 8 players 28.25 combined.
Bench Player of the Week
Jamaal Williams (Deadly Nagintas) – Jamaal had 4 catches for 69 yds, and 66 rushing yds plus a TD both through the air and on the ground. His performance would not have changed the outcome.
Bonehead Coaching Move of the Week
Rex in the City – Taking a vacation while in a playoff chase. Come on man. At least have someone checking your lineup for inactives! I’m sure Clemmer would have done it for you.
- Ed. Note – Scotty doesn’t take a penalty for his Eli Apple 0. I was supposed to be setting his line up, but I was at a family Christmas. It didn’t affect the match up or scoring VP as he ended up with max anyway, so I’m not going to bother adjusting.
