Week 6 is in the books, and we still have one unbeaten team among us…and an entire division ranked 9th-12th in the league. We didn’t have a single team score over 200 this week, and overall, scores looked lower this week. I guess that’s what happens when byes are going on, and teams are forced to use some of their depth or lack thereof.
Matchups
3-3 Fear Boners (192.46) – 1-5 What Does John Fox Say (166.98)
Boners with the high score of the week across the league, and have suddenly jumped into Bandits rear view mirror. Boners were lead by their DL, which scored him an amazing 38.5pts, with JPP having a monster game, scoring 24pts by himself. Boners scored 192 and even started Andre Ellington who threw down a donut for him. The game was never really close, and WDJFS defence continues to struggle, with only one guy on defence with more than 10pts. That will not get it done. WDJFS managed to get 1 VP and sits 2nd in the Taco Corp.
6-0 Tom Selleck’s Moustache (175.41) – 1-5 Endzone Dancers (155.67)
The Stache stay atop the EBFL standings, and stay undefeated, improving to 6-0 with a 20pt victory over the Dancers. Endzone had an uninspiring day from his 3 RB’s, as they combined for only 21pts…while Melvin Gordon scored 31.5pts himself for the Stache. Dancers drop to a league-worst 1-5. While the Stache picked up another victory, they can’t be overly happy with the defence, as only 3 players scored more than 10pts. Stache extended their lead in Yobagoya division to 3 VP over the Bananas.
4-2 Loose Bandits (191.99) – 4-2 San Juan Bananas (176.02)
Big win for the Bandits this week, beating a Bananas team who was the 4th highest scoring team in the league this week. That’s how things fall sometimes, as they take a loss scoring 176, but Schiano’s picked up a win scoring 151. Bandits had their Steeler boys leading the way with LeVeon and Antonio combining for 52.1pts. Vaccaro was also gifted a TD on the 3rd defensive snap of the game. Vaccaro ended up with over 20pts. Bananas had a pair of 2 TD performances, one from Hyde, and one from Gronk. He also left the Giants new starting RB, Orleans Darkwa on the bench. Bandits still sit atop their division but are still behind Bananas as far as VP go. Bananas can’t seem to gain any ground on the Stache.
2-4 Rex in the City (162.88) – 3-3 Chalupa Batman (136.85)
Things continue to point towards a rebuild for Laker, as Aaron Rodgers appears to be done for the year…salt in the would scoring a gross 136pts. Rex’s pick up the easy W, and despite their record, and how little they score, they really aren’t too far behind in the Taco Corp division. Rex again started two TE, but this time they came thru and combined scored 28pts. He also had a monster game from Cameron Jordan.
4-2 Greg Schiano is an Idiot (151.58) – 3-3 Knuckle Ballers (147.11)
Not much going on in this one, as the 10th and 11th highest scoring teams for the week faced off. Dan must be stoked about cashing a win after this sub-par performance where only 2 offensive players scored double-digit points. Usually a recipe for failure. But not when you are playing a team who is starting Tanner Gentry (who?) at WR. Miraculously, Ballers still sit atop the Taco Crap…I mean Corp, division. This matchup had the potential to have gone a different direction with one move made by Ballers.
3-3 Long Snappers (179.36) – 2-4 Deadly Nagintas (162.88)
Amazingly, we had two teams score the EXACT same amount this week…don’t recall ever seeing that happen before. Roddy was lead by ROY frontrunner Fournette, and his RB’s…his 3 RB outscored his 4 WR & TE. Along with his WR and TE struggles, he also only had one defensive player over 10pts. Snappers picked up 4pts, and while they still sit in the Yobagoya basement, they are only 1pt out of a playoff spot…and would be 1st place in the Taco Corp. Not sure Snappers would have predicted this, but Derrick Henry put up 21pts which sealed the victory.
Week 6 Awards
Offensive Player of the Week
Melvin Gordon (Tom Selleck’s Moustache) – Gordon’s 31.5 points led the Stache to victory.
Defensive Player of the Week
Cameron Jordan (Rex in the City) – Cameron Jordan put up almost 25pts, with 4 tackles, 2 sacks, 3 Passes Defended, and an INT for a TD. Impressive.
Rookie of the Week
Leonard Fournette (Deadly Nagintas) – A 75yd TD on the opening play of the game is a nice way to start things off. Three straight weeks for Lenny.
Goat of the Week
Cory James (Knuckle Ballers) – James put up zero points in a tight game. He’s probably dropable now with Bowman in Oakland.
Pickup of the Week
N/A – Bobber didn’t send me anything for this.
Bench Player of the Week
Kurt Cousins (What Does John Fox Say) – Cousins, put up almost 30pts…which would have made things REAL tight vs Boners. (Ed. Pretend I’m the Skins GM)
Bonehead Coaching Move of the Week
Rob Conrod (Knuckle Ballers) – Leaving Lavonte David on the bench, and he scores 19pts while having Cory James and his ZERO pts in the starting lineup. That would have been the difference to give Ballers the win over the Idiots.
