The 2nd annual Igloo Bowl final is complete, and the Deadly Nagintas are the new champions of the EBFL. The Nagintas dominated the final, making up for their lacklustre 2014 Igloo Bowl performance, finally getting their first win over their division rivals in 5 tries. While the Nagintas weren’t the best team in the league through the season, but they got it done when they had to, and now join the Rexes with their name on the trophy. They bucked their trend of WR heavy line ups to get it done in the final, rolling out 4 RB for the first time in their history to earn the victory and make a prophet out of Bobber.
Igloo Bowl Bracket
#5 Deadly Nagintas (236.44) def #2 Chalupa Batman (163.70)
Another season, another blow out final. This time the Nagintas were on the winning side, as they stomped the Chalupas. The game was tight through the pre-Sunday tilts and the early slate of games on Sunday, but the afternoon games were all Nagintas, as the Packers were a let down for the Chalupas, while the Saints were full value for the Nagintas. They were a well balanced team all season, and their stars performed like stars.
Game MVP: Tim Hightower – Hightower and Brees (last year’s finals goat) led the way, with Hightower putting up over 30 points in the finale.
Playoff MVP: Drew Brees – Brees averaged over 25 points through the playoffs to carry the team to the title.
Goat: Richard Rodgers – Arizona is known for giving up big games to TE, but the Packers end couldn’t muster even a full point.
Extra Pick Bracket
#1 What Does John Fox Say (167.39) def #6 San Juan Bananas (166.20.)
With almost the exact same score as last seasons winner, WDJFS pulled out the narrow victory to earn the 2.13 in the 2016 EBFL Rookie Draft. WDJFS appears to have the Bananas number after knocking them out of the playoffs both seasons. The Bananas had several huge under-performers which cost them what was projected to be an easy victory. WDJFS is trending in the right direction, with a ROTY favourite, the #1 selection in the 2016 draft and now the extra pick.
Game MVP: Jordan Reed – Reed was a force getting the Skins into the playoffs, and Scotty the extra pick in the upcoming draft.
Goat: James Starks – There were no shortage of candidates for this one, with Starks going negative, another zero, and a terrible game from Big Ben.
Frittata Bowl Standings
1. Tom Selleck’s Moustache (585.80) – 231.51, 151.33, 202.96
2. Fear Boners (613.96) – 220.30, 217.00, 176.66
3. What Does John Fox Say (621.02) – 209.69, 222.14, 189.19
4. Rex in the City (655.91) – 215.54, 233.04, 207.33
The Stache are the new recipients of the Frittata Award and the new owners of license plate covers. This team was projected to be a playoff team before the year got going, and now are the worst team in the league, and to add insult to injury they traded away their first round pick to acquire the likes of Jay Ajayi…whoops! This year’s Frittata Bowl was much higher scoring than last, with even the worst team this year outscoring the best team the previous season.
Thanks again to everyone for another great season. We have everyone returning again for 2016, which is quite rare for a dynasty league in the early stages. Most of the leagues I’ve been in have seen turnover in each of the first couple seasons, so it’s a refreshing change to have a league like this.
