It was yet another entertaining week in the EBFL, with records falling, major trades and a little controversy over some alleged tanking. A couple teams bound for the playoffs took crushing losses, likely setting themselves up for the lowest possible seeds when we reach Week 14. The Rexes put the Ballers on notice that they aren’t going down without a fight, throwing down the highest score in the league this season, and also the largest margin of victory. There were several big names moved in recent weeks, and now we’re only a couple days from the trade deadline. It will be interesting to see if the top teams are done dealing, or if they’ll continue to load up for a run at the title.
Projected Seeds (if playoffs started today)
- Knuckle Ballers
- Chalupa Batman
- San Juan Bananas
- Deadly Nagintas
- Rex in the City
- What Does John Fox Say
All of these squads have clinched a playoff spot, except for the Bananas, who need 3 more VP to lock down their division.
Matchups
7-3 Rex in the City (234.00) – 2-8 Tom Selleck’s Moustache (116.94)
The Rexes were huge favourites in this one, and didn’t disappoint, with a new league record for weekly score, as well as margin of victory. Every offensive starter for the Rexes put up a double digit score, paced by the Rodgers/Nelson combo with over 30 each. The Stache followed up their best week of the season with their worst, thanks to several notable players on their Bye. They have the talent to earn the 2.13 pick, but as has been the question all season, will they perform.
8-2 Knuckle Ballers (197.06) – 3-7 Long Snappers (109.26)
The Knuckle Ballers stay at the top of the standings, with another big win, this time against the Snappers. They’re pretty much on cruise control heading towards their Week 13 match up with the Rexes, which may very well determine the #1 seed in the playoffs. The Snappers take a savage beating, which would have been the record, had it not been for the Rexes thrashing of the Stache.
8-2 Deadly Nagintas (184.58) – 1-9 Greg Schiano is an Idiot (138.28)
The Nagintas keep pace with the Chalupas atop the Senor Crabs division with an easy victory against the Idiots. Big games from Dez, Mike Evans and Justin Forsett paced the squad, en route to their 8th victory and a playoff position. The Idiots have the worst record in the league, and are 1 VP ahead of the Bandits and Dancers with 3 weeks left to play. A week 11 match up with the Bandits could very well decide who picks where in the rookie draft.
9-1 Chalupa Batman (184.42) – 6-4 San Juan Bananas (167.22)
The Chalupas came out on top of this match up of division leaders, thanks to monster days from Marshawn Lynch and recent pick up, Chris Borland. The win keeps them on top of the division, and on pace for the 2nd seed in the playoffs. The Bananas lose a game they probably thought they had in the bag before Lynch went all Beast Mode on the Giants. Thankfully for them, no one else in their division wants to make up ground, so they should sail into in the playoffs.
4-6 Fear Boners (152.14) – 8-2 What Does John Fox Say? (147.80)
The Boners pull of the upset, despite a horrible first half from Cam Newton in the Monday night game. They are left to wonder what may have been, had they not gotten off to such a slow start. WDJFS took a very costly loss, which puts them on even footing for the first tie-break with both Senor Crabs playoff squads.
2-8 Loose Bandits (149.90) – 2-8 Endzone Dancers (136.88)
Thanks to a monster performance by Jordan Matthews, the Bandits earn their 2nd win of the season, despite a negative score from Andy Dalton. The Bandits should have a pair of top 5 picks to try and make a quick turn around. The Dancers caused a bit of a shit storm this week, with their lack of a line up. Even with the Commish putting together a line up for them, they drop into a tie for last place. Both squads were dinged for incomplete line ups, and starting in Week 11, there will be a new rule implemented to prevent any form of tanking.
Week 10 Awards
Offensive Player of the Week
Marshawn Lynch (Chalupa Batman) – Aaron Rodgers chucks 6 TD’s in a half and still can’t get the award, thanks to a 4 TD game from Beast Mode.
Defensive Player of the Week
Chris Borland (Chalupa Batman) – A sweep this week for the Chalupas as Borland lays down another double digit tackle performance.
Rookie of the Week
Jordan Matthews (Loose Bandits) – Several rookies had great weeks, but none compared with the 138 yards and 2 scores of Matthews.
Goat of the Week
Terrence Williams (San Juan Bananas) – Williams dropped a donut against the Jags, while Dez put up over 30 points, costing the Bananas valuable points.
Pickup of the Week
Chris Borland (Chalupa Batman) – Obviously gets the nod, picking up Defensive Player of the Week. It looks like he will be solid going forward with Willis out.
Bench Player of the Week

Bonehead Coaching Move of the Week
